Auditor
From MadnessWiki
The Auditor (possibly the "Higher Powers" that have revived Hank throughout the series) is a character in Madness Consternation and Madness Inundation.
He is seen at the end of Madness Consternation, standing behind a monitor that is shown to be the original Improbability Drive, still in place and apparently upgraded from the sheriff's custom. Reading the list of fallen characters (Tricky, Hank, etc.), he slides the difficulty up to "OH SHI_" and curls his head, before the screen fades to black with his red, menacing eyes in the background.
In Madness Inundation, he plays a far bigger role, replacing Tricky, the sheriff, and Jesus himself as the main antagonist. He is, in fact, being hunted by Jesus for he is currently in possession of the Improbability Drive (which apparently can be used from a PC). A Mag V2 guard alerts him that Jesus is destroying a part of the Improbability Drive rooted in the lower floors of the facility. This action prompts him to arm himself with a minigun and await Jesus who, upon arrival outside, manages to race under his line of fire and into the building. Infuriated, the Auditor summons a pair of machetes and confronts Jesus in a room where a second Mag V2 guard lies dead. Easily overpowering Jesus, he retreats to an upper floor after firing a barrage of MP5K rounds at Jesus who, using a red shield, repels them at him. He stops Jesus from trying to cure himself and destroying the Drive with a quick flurry of attacks. He then summons a bazooka and blasts Jesus through a wall, discovering that the Improbability Drive's control panel has been destroyed. He is last seen staring solemnly at Jesus while a white light crashes into the area, obliterating the building they were in.
In Madness Aggregation, the Auditor appears to have survived the building's explosion, and takes possession of Jesus' halo, who was incapacitated by the shock wave. He is able to host off of the halo's powers throughout the movie, possessing two L33T agents in the same manner that Jesus revived fallen guards as zombies. The Auditor finally activates Mag Agent V.3, who is dispatched quickly by Hank towards the end of the animation. The Auditor then demonstrates a power that allows him to absorb corpses around himself, becoming more powerful as he fuses with them.
It appears that he can be harmed by melee weapons, as seen near the end of Madness Combat 8: Inundation when the Jesus bashed him with his Smith & Wesson Model 500, sending him sprawling. This may ultimately lead to his death, as Sanford, one of the new protagonists prefers to slaughter his enemies with his hook on a string, though there's no evidence on the connection between them, and as the hook will pierce his body (like bullets do) there possibly is a chance his 'warping reflex' will protect him. A same act is seen on the approach of Madness Aggregation's ending seen where Sanford attempts to stab him, but misses as the auditor vanishes. Krinkels has also stated that Hank prefers melee weapons, and is highly skilled with them. This might lead to a showdown between the two. However, it is seen in Madness Aggregation that he easily dodge melee weapons, too.
He is one of three characters to never die (yet), the other two being Sanford and the Hot Dog Vendor.
Powers/Abilities
The Auditor demonstrates many powers. They seem to be the antithesis to Jesus', being more satanic and overly powerful. He is also the only one other than Jesus who seemingly retains his powers without the Improbability Drive's intervention. (Example: Tricky's demon form and Tricky's insane attack during Depredation, etc.) The powers seen are as follows:
- He is capable of instantly teleporting out of harm's way, seen as every time Jesus attempts to shoot him, he vanishes from the bullet's path. While he is not seen using Jesus' red bullet shield or obliteration power, he is able to spawn weapons, while Jesus was only able to summon his sword and gun from hammer space, it is unlikely he spawned them, but rather held onto them. There exists a chance that this action is activated by reflex, as every potentially fatal attack is dodged extremely swiftly. This reflex doesn't appear to work with non-fatal melee attacks, as seen near the end of Madness Inundation right before the auditor's 'office', where Jesus knocks down the auditor and attempts to shoot him: he didn't warp away when Jesus knocked him into a harmless position, and therefore he would probably have died if he did not have his warping powers.
- The Auditor was a very skilled opponent. He could hold his own in a battle against Jesus, even without using his superpowers, but he spared him at first after wounding him. Since the auditor never faced Hank we cannot determine who would be the most skilled opponent, though Hank probably wouldn't stand a chance as long as the auditor had his supernatural powers.
- He may be invulnerable as well, though this is debatable as he dodges every shot and is not once seen being hit.
- The Auditor can also, as seen at the end of Madness Aggregation, absorb corpses around him, making him larger, and probably stronger.
- He is able to summon practically any weapon at will, but prefers to dual-wield weapons (Like the machetes and the MP5K in Madness Inundation).
- He can morph his form to be as flat as a shadow.
- He is also able to fly, just like Jesus.
- The Auditor is shown to have exceptional accuracy even with weapons that would normally be inaccurate, such as a large minigun which he uses as a sniper rifle against Jesus.
- In Madness Combat 9: Aggregation, Jesus' halo gave him the powers to modify/enhance any agent to give it improved combat capabilities that are (almost) at the level of one of the protagonists. He used this ability on two A.T.P. agents and an unfinished MAG guard.
Improbability Drive
The Auditor seems to be the creator of the Improbability Drive, which was first used by the Sheriff in order to try and kill off Hank for good. While Tricky uses the Improbability Drive to become powerful, only the Auditor can use its full potential, modifying his henchmen into super-powered soldiers, as well as infecting Jesus with a virus, making him cough up blood periodically. The Improbability Drive has the potential to modify anything that the user wishes, and potentially uses the insanity of a person's mind for empowerment, as shown in Tricky's rise in strength after being slaughtered each time. In the series, there are three of these drives, as revealed by Deimos' PDA in Madness Combat 9: Aggregation; one drive was controlled by the Sheriff and probably the same one Tricky housed within his skull, the second and biggest of the drives was controlled by the Auditor, and the third drive's whereabouts is still unknown.
